A “patch” is a piece of software designed to update a computer program, its supporting data, to fix or improve it and this includes fixing security vulnerabilities and other bugs. Such patches could also include fixes to improve usability and/or performance.
For ReACT, patch updates are fixes for bugs, security vulnerabilities and issues that have accrued within the main version of the application. This update can be done at any time and, being included in the annual support package, is at no additional cost. If a patch update is required, users are notified by the ReACT Team and a suitable date and time agreed for the patch to be issued into test. Down time is minimal and release notes are provided to explain changes.
Users with ReACT version 4.6 are asked to note that a patch will be released at the end of April.
For more information about patch updates, please contact Account Manager Nicola Tomlinson on 0121 384 2513 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
