The 2016 national ASB Conference was organised in house by the team at Resolve ASB and a very good job they made of it too. With a mix of plenary and workshop sessions covering a variety of ASB related subjects there was plenty for delegates to choose from and repeating morning workshops in the afternoon was appreciated by many. The conference was very ably chaired by Kuljit Bhogal of Cornerstone Barristers who subtly managed to keep the conference on time. The revised exhibition layout worked reasonably well but, in the light of experience gained, will need to be tweaked for next year. Catering was again very good with an acceptable choice of menu for lunch on both days and an enjoyable dinner on the Tuesday evening.
All housing conferences are sociable occasions and this was no exception with the Annual ASB Awards being a highlight and a humorous impromptu after dinner speaker in Alfie Moore being followed by an energetic (for some) disco.
ReACT was very pleased to be the principal sponsor for the conference and looks forward to continuing its longstanding partnership arrangements with Resolve ASB.
Noise continues to be far and away the greatest cause of complaints to social landlords and The Noise App (www.thenoiseapp.com) was a major talking point around the exhibition. Residents using the Noise App are able to upload the information directly to ReACT.
